The Mayflower & Plymouth Colony

This recording is of Carlton Bradford, one of the last of the direct line descendants of William Bradford, one of the 102 pilgrims who set sail from England and crossed to the New World on the Mayflower. Carlton is a member of the Society of Mayflower Descendants and a man who knows well his family history.

William Bradford served as the governor of the Plymouth Colony Settlement for more than 30 years, establishing a community centered on subsistence agriculture and religious tolerance. He wrote “Of Plymouth Plantation,” one of the most important early chronicles of the New England settlement. This recording was made in March 2015.
